Contact Lens Exams
Contact Lens Exams in Maryland & Virginia
Finding the right contact lenses starts with more than a quick fitting — it takes a real understanding of your eyes, your prescription, and how you actually use your vision day to day. At RHOÉL Premium Optical, Dr. Michael Krimigis and Dr. Julie Vendittis provide thorough contact lens exams for patients throughout Frederick, MD; Purcellville, VA; Ocean City, MD; and Cambridge, MD. Every fitting begins with a detailed evaluation of your refractive error and corneal shape, followed by an honest conversation about which lens type — soft, rigid gas permeable, multifocal, or specialty — fits your prescription, comfort needs, and daily routine. If you struggle with dry eye, seasonal allergies, or recurring eye infections, our team will help you determine whether contact lenses are a realistic option or whether glasses might serve you more comfortably. Whichever direction is right for you, you’ll leave with a clear recommendation, not a one-size-fits-all prescription. Schedule a Fitting

Evaluation
Before prescribing any contact lens, Dr. Krimigis or Dr. Vendittis first determines exactly what level of vision correction you need. Refractive error — commonly experienced as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism — is measured by evaluating how your eyes focus as different lens strengths are placed in front of them, using either a phoropter or automated diagnostic instrument. This precise measurement process ensures your contact lens prescription is accurate from the very first fitting, reducing the trial-and-error that can come with an incomplete evaluation.
